Connections in London

Revd Rob Jones, National Director of Pioneer Ministry, was invited to London at the beginning of May to join the Alpha Leadership Conference and Leader’s Day.

The Leadership Conference takes place annually in the Royal Albert Hall in London, gathering a variety of leaders from around the world for worship, prayer and equipping. There was a particular theme this year about looking ahead to the next decade, casting the vision for the world to be invited to meet Jesus and envisioning local churches across the world to play their part in the re-evangelisation of the nation, the revitalisation of the Church and the transformation of society.

During the Leaders’ Gathering the following day, Rob had the chance to connect with a wide group of different leaders, hearing about what God is doing in their nations and how they are reaching out to those with little or no connection to the church. It was also a great opportunity to share some of what God is doing across the island of Ireland, both that which already exists, and that which is unfolding through the work of Pioneer Ministry.

It was particularly encouraging to be there with others from Ireland, such as Sister Mary who is on the front foot of pioneering in the Roman Catholic Church in Ireland, and members of the Alpha Ireland team, such as Tanya Ollhausen.

Rob also had the chance to meet with Mark Sayers, one of the key cultural voices speaking into the church globally at the moment. Mark leads a church in Melbourne, Australia, as well as hosting a podcast, Rebuilders, and has written a number of excellent books.
